October 11 was Mission Sunday at Scotsdale and the sermon, “Missionaries and the Church,” was from 3 John 5-8 which says:
5 Dear friend, you are acting faithfully in whatever you do for the brothers and sisters, especially when they are strangers. 6 They have testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God, 7 since they set out for the sake of the Name, accepting nothing from pagans. 8 Therefore, we ought to support such people so that we can be coworkers with the truth.
We also had presentations from two missionaries, updating us on how God is working through their ministries. Their presentations are included in the video linked below.
August 2nd’s sermon, “The Fear Factor,” was preached by Larry Wilkins from Luke 12:4-7, which says:
4 “I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. 5 But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him! 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.
